2024 Spring Season

I am excited and pleased to be helping out with the U15 Panther this season. Looking forward to a season of learning and growing. Be respectful and give your full effort in all that you do.

Mission Statement

The Atlantic Hockey Group says: "Our mission is to develop players to their full potential on the ice – while at the same time helping them to grow important traits such as hard work, discipline, respect, and team work." And they add: "Our vision is to support the development of hockey players across Atlantic Canada and to enable them the tools and resources to compete against players from across the globe."

Website

This website pulls together resources I have used with various teams. Please send me things you would like to see added or let me know if there are dead links.

Here are some things I would like to point out:

  • To play our best we have to be ready - healthy nutrition, hydration, sleep, and mentally prepared. See our Healthy Play page for information on Nutrition and Hydration from the Coaching Association of Canada. Remember: garbage in = garbage out!
  • The Healthy Play page also includes information on Mental Game Planning and Self Coaching.

Everyone should have a game plan for competition. When a player consistently gets nervous in front of a crowd or gets psyched out after making a mistake, a contingency plan rooted in sports psychology can help them get back on track and forget the earlier problem.

  • The Team Play page links to game Analysis videos - I have posted some samples from the U18A team I coached in 2020-21. We will also add Scouting information on other teams. There are links to an Off-Ice Warm Up routine I have used in the past and some analysis of Team Tactics from a course I took through Holland College. There are also some player Player Tools that are good to have in the bag for pre-game reminders.
