    Full extension - recoil

2. Stationary Stickhandling Knee bend
Proper hand spacing (about a forearm’s length), with top hand controling movement
    Weight transfer

3. Stickhandling while Skating Forward Same keys as stationary stickhandling
  Eyes up
  Hands away from body

4. Inside Edges Knee bend
    Extend hands away from body
    Don’t drag back foot

5. Outside Edges Knee bend
    Extend hands away from body
    Don’t drag back foot

6. Forward Crossovers Knee bend
    Outside foot crosses over
Inside foot extends under - full extension with toe snap

7. 5-Step Crossovers (Drive Skating) Explosive speed with high knees
  Puck protection
  Consistent rhythm - don’t gallop

8. Power Turns Knee bend
Legs open front to back like scissors (inside foot forward); outside leg is power leg, inside leg is steering leg
    Tuck the puck

9. Stationary Passing (Cushion & Sweep; Forehand & Backhand) Knee bend
  Stick square to the puck
Cushion when receiving, sweep when delivering

10. Passing while Skating (Cushion & Sweep; Forehand & Backhand) Knee bend
  Receive on outside foot
  Deliver on inside foot

11. Stationary Passing (Touch Pass) Knee bend
Top hand out to make blade cupped
Execute pass with cross checking motion

12. Passing while Skating (Touch Pass) Knee bend
Adjust hands to make blade cupped
Execute pass with cross checking motion

13. Stationary Passing (Saucer Pass) Knee bend
Puck starts at heel of blade; blade open
Release puck, let it spin from heel to toe

14. Passing while Skating (Saucer Pass) Knee bend
Puck starts at heel of blade; blade open
Release puck, let it spin from heel to toe

15. Bank Pass Sweep pass
Hit yellow dasher for best bounce
    Learn angles

16. Drop Pass Pull defender with you
Drop puck so it stops in an area
    Learn team’s attack patterns

17. Area Passing Pass to area not player
    Timing is responsibility of receiver
Better to be late and speeding up, than early and slowing down

18. Crossover Start Knee bend
Cross over while staying low - stick stays down
    Explode!

19. V-Start Knee bend
    Feet in a “V” - heels together
Explode; first 6 strides are running, then low, smooth strides

20. 2-Foot Inside Edge Stops Knee bend
Front foot digs in, back foot drags (feet stay parallel with each other, on both inside edges)
  Two hands on stick

21. Hockey Stops Knee bend
Feet open front to back like scissors - back foot forward
    Both feet dig in

22. 1-Foot Outside Edge Stops Knee bend
Back foot stops on outside edge
Front foot crosses over the back foot as you come to a stop

23. 1-Foot Inside Edge Stops Knee bend
Front foot stops on inside edge
Back foot lifts and prepares to go opposite direction

24. Crossover Stops Knee bend
Back foot stops on outside edge
Front foot crosses over the back foot as you explode in the opposite direction

25. Backward C-Cuts Butt down, chest up
Weight on heels; heels stay on the ice; eyes up
Upper body loose but compact; hands at hips; no arm pumping

26. Backward Crossunders Butt down, chest up
Outside foot ccuts, inside foot pushes under (full extension with toe snap), inside foot steps back out
Outside foot doesn’t leave the ice

27. Backward 3-Step Crossunders Butt down, chest up
    Hands at hips
"C-cut, crossunder, step out” alternating legs

28. Stickhandling while Skating Backward Butt down, chest up
  Hands and feet work independently
  Eyes up

29. Pivots (Forward to Backward) Knee bend
  Step, glide, step
  No head bobbing

30. Pivots (Backward to Forward) Knee bend
Open and turn - no crossover pivots
  No head bobbing

31. Pivots (Inside Reverse) Knee bend
    No head bobbing
Explosive crossovers to change direction quickly, then backward crossunders

32. Backward Stops & Starts Two step crossover starts
Backward crossunders once speed is up
    V stops

33. Giving & Receiving Passes while Skating Backward Butt down, chest up
  Hands and feet work independently
  Learn where to aim

34. Mohawks Knee bend
    Heel to heel
    Weight transfer

35. Deking Learn to “sell” the move
Get comfortable handling puck farther from body
Start move early enough to have space

36. Toe Drag Knee bend
Push puck out, pull puck in with toe of blade
Learn to execute from different angles

37. Explosiveness Knee bend
    Quick feet
    Powerful stride

38. Wrist Shot Load up back leg
    Stick blade square to target
Explode from back foot to front foot while snapping wrists

39. Snap Shot Knee bend
Drive stick into ice and snap puck - stick flex generates power
Nose out in front of toes for max stick flex

40. Slap Shot Knee bend and forward lean
    Full wind up
Drive stick into ice and slap puck - stick flex generates power

41. Backhand Shot Load up back leg
    Stick blade square to target
Explode from back foot to front foot while snapping wrists

42. OneTimer Shots Knee bend
Same mechanics as slap or snap shot
    Timing

43. Flip Shot (for DumpIns) Knee bend
    Flip puck high using wrists
Aim for area where your team can get to the puck first

44. Deflections Positioning in front of net (either in close, or further out, depending on your strategy)
    Face shooter
If shot is high, knock it down; if low, tip it up; if left, tip it right; if right, tip it left (then jump on the rebound!)

45. Rebounding Net front positioning - stay further away from goalie so the rebound doesn’t bounce past you
    Time arrival to net
Shoot high - usually goalie is down after a save

46. Crashing the Net Drive net hard for onetimer shots, tips, and rebounds
    Be ready to be hit
    Don’t skate past the rebound

47. Checking Knee bend for stability
    Time the hit
    Separate man from puck

48. Pinning & “Legal Picks” Use to open up time and space
Hit and pin, but release quickly
Use body positioning to make opponent’s route to puck longer
